Boil in Finger since Two Weeks

2026-03-30 10:21:02
I am having a boil in my finger since the past two weeks. There is no pain except when touched but there is pain and discomfort when touched. I have attached pictures What exactly is this? How to get rid of it? Is it something serious? Is hot compress helpful?

This looks like a small localized bacterial infection (boil/furuncle) or possibly an inflamed cyst. Since it is present for 2 weeks and tender on touch, it suggests a localized pus collection rather than anything serious. Next Steps: • Apply warm compress (hot fomentation) 3–4 times daily – this helps it settle or drain • Apply topical antibiotic ointment (like Mupirocin/Fusidic acid) twice daily • Avoid squeezing or pricking it Helpful Tips / Word of Caution: • Do not try to burst it yourself (can worsen infection) • Keep the area clean and dry • Mild cases usually resolve with warm compress and topical treatment You can consult with me via Practo for detailed evaluation and treatment
