Blood Pressure

Hi Doctors, Hope you are doing well. I am often facing sudden acidity issues(burps, farts) and at that point of time BP gets around 130/90. Is the BP high? Any suggestions, does acidity cause bp to rise? It happens mostly around evening or night. I am unable to figure out the root cause.

Hello! I can provide some general information that may be helpful. Acidity or acid reflux can cause discomfort and symptoms such as burping and flatulence. However, it's important to note that these symptoms are not typically associated with an increase in blood pressure. A blood pressure reading of 130/90 mmHg is considered to be in the prehypertension range, which means that your blood pressure is higher than normal but not yet in the hypertension range. However, it's important to note that blood pressure can fluctuate throughout the day and can be affected by various factors such as stress, physical activity, and diet. If you are experiencing frequent episodes of acidity and an increase in blood pressure, it's important to speak with a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. I may recommend lifestyle changes such as avoiding trigger foods, losing weight, and reducing stress. I may also recommend medication to help manage your symptoms and lower your blood pressure if necessary. It's important to prioritize your health and well-being, and to seek medical attention if you are experiencing any concerning symptoms.
