As u r suffering from bilateral hernia and elderly age u can opt for stoppas repair where in hernia mesh is placed intra abdominally preperitoneally and both side hernia will be addressed at a time . Risk of General anesthesia is more in elderly age group so u can consider going for stoppa repair

You can undergo laparoscopic hernia repair. Laparoscopic Trans Abdominal Pre Peritoneal approach (TAPP).
