Diabetes and geriatric age group take longer time n difficult to heal.If being bedridden continues there is a chance of  developing more bed sores in future.
Next Steps
1, Take up some physiotheurapy to get him  up n  about ,if his condition permits. 2, Discuss pros n constipation of skin grafting with  a general surgeon . but  morbidity will be more for surgery and anaesthesia for him.
Health Tips
keep diabetes under control. You take care of your health too  in addition to attending him.

Use air mattress for rest for your dad. Maintain postural care (frequent posture change). The wound has healed completely, but skin regeneration is awaiting. It can be helped by skin grafting (consult Plastic Surgeon for it).

As the wound seems like better to undergo debridement/ resurfacing the edges then suturing. Else it will take much more time. Use mupirocine ointment. Use air bed and side changing every 2hrly if bedridden
