At this age, many babies go through phases of cluster feeding, where they want to feed very frequently and sleep only for short periods. Small amounts of curd-like or clear milk spitting after feeds are also common and usually represent normal reflux if the baby is otherwise active, feeding well, passing urine normally, and gaining weight.
Try to:
* Burp the baby after every feed.
* Keep the baby upright for 20–30 minutes after feeding.
* Avoid overfeeding and allow the baby to come off the breast naturally.
* Ensure a proper latch if breastfeeding.
Pediatric evaluation is needed if the baby has poor weight gain, forceful/projectile vomiting, green vomit, blood in vomit or stool, fever, difficulty breathing, persistent lethargy, fewer than 6 wet diapers/day, or inconsolable crying.
