You can start weaning at the beginning of 6th month. Give rice kanji, dal water, tomato soup, beet /carrot soup (clear soups), fresh fruit juice. Introduce one item at a time. Try it in the morning hours, so that you can watch for allergy or intolerance to the food given. You can give one item for a week. If the child tolerates it then add the second food item. Don't forget to give boiled cool water to the baby in between, once you start weaning.
