You should get the child evaluated There are so many age appropriate screening tests and diagnostic tests available Earlier the diagnosis made , intervention improves the outcomes As far as symptoms or i should say red flag signs for autism are Poor response to name call by the age of 1 yr No meaningful word by 18 months of age Does not play with toys appropriately Fixed patterns of interests and activities Decreased interaction with peers Has odd movement pattern and or very repetitive behaviour Repeating words(echolalia) Is hyperactive Toe walking Hope this helps See the doctor and dont worry
