After completing 2 months of lungs TB  treatment. His treating doctor has adviced him to discontinue taking ETHAMBUTOL(COMBUTOL). And continue with ISONIAZID RIFAMPCIN PYRAZINAMIDE his LFT and all other reports are normal.His X rays has shown some improvement. At the start of his treatment his sputum reports and Mauntox were negative, but Chest CT scan showed he is having TB. And he was having continuous cough for 30 days. question is is this treatment correct as his treating doctor has stopped ETHAMBUTOL after 2 months but has asked to continue ISONIAZID,RIFAMPCIN and PYRAZINAMIDE further. Please reply.

No he has to take isoniazid rifampicin and ethambutol…Take a consultation with pulmonologist for better evaluation and treatment

Pyrazinamide has to be stopped. Emb can be continued. It is Better to take govt Att drugs.However ,treating qualified doctor knows better. Pl consult Pulmonologist online with all the reports and treatment taken.
