Arv injection dog bite

2024-03-07 16:05:13
Dear Sir/ ma'am My mother was bitten by a street dog, and the physician prescribed Ars (immunoglobulin) and ARV (intradermal) 0.1 ml, along with a TT injection on the day of admission. We have a doubt regarding the intradermal route for the ARV vaccine. We read that 0.1 ml intradermal ARV should be given on two sites. Is this two separate injections of 0.1 ml ARV administered intradermally on two separate sites in the deltoid, or is it half the dose of 0.1 ml ARV injected on one deltoid site and the other half on a different site? My mother received only one injection of 0.1 ml intradermal ARV on the first day. Do we need to take two injections of 0.1 ml intradermal ARV on two different sites? Your assistance is appreciated. Thank you sir Any of you respected doctors would you please solve my doubts here as we are very much nervo us and we are living in village.

Intradermal (ID) injection of inj arv should be given at each deltoid(0.1 ml on each shoulder). And intramuscular(IM)injection of 1 ml given on one shoulder only. So if you are saying that your mother has got only one injection you should probably ask the nurse that if they have given IM injection or ID injection. And if your mother has got only one ID injection then on the next day she should get the other one.
