Are my glucose levels normal?
I'm not a diabetic. I recently took a diabetes test because I had pigmentation in my arm creases and neck. The profile says:
Glucose(fasting) 77 mg/dl
Post prandial blood sugar 116 mg/dl
Are these levels normal considering I'm not diagnosed with diabetes till now?
Your reports are suggestive of pre-diabetes or diabetes. Need PPBS and HBA1c for conformation of the same. The brackish pigmentations are called acantosis and it is the sign of insulin resistance which can lead to diabetes sooner or later. Usually it is found in obese individuals. So u need to change ur lifestyle by changing ur diet and regular exercise. Reducing ur weight if obese will b very helpful.
