Antibiotics in first trimester

Hello, My wife is 6 week pregnant. One doctor suggested erthromycine (althrocin 500 mg) twice in a day or other doctor suggested cetil 500 twice in a day to take 5 days? is it safe to take any one in first trimester of pregancy? which one is less harmful for fetus and best?

Both are safe in pregnancy. But Cetil is much stronger and much costlier than Azithromycin. Cetil should be used only if you have laboratory evidence that only this antibiotic should be used. Azithromycin 500 mg can be used once a day.
