Hello sir,
Well done that you are willing to fight one of the toughest disorders, alcohol addiction. I do understand the trouble that you are facing as well. I have a few suggestions for your problem:
1. We need to find out the real resson for your drinking like any stress, depression, anxiety, sleep issues, peer pressure, social norm and treat that too.
2. Craving of alcohol is like hunger to food. It will always subside in about 30-40 minutes, but after it reaches a peak always.
3. To cross over the peak, you need to divert your mind and expend the energy that craving generates, fo e.g., by doing a hobby, exercising at that time, engaging in spiritual activities etc.
4. There are anticraving drugs available, but they should be prescribed and monitored by a psychiatrist only.
Alcohol addiction is not a habit, its a disease. It needs a multimodality treatment.
Pls feel free to contact me for a private conaultation.
Regards!
