First of all, raised
creatinine doesn’t always meaning there is an infection. Here raised creatinine indicates damages to both kidneys only. In your father’s case damage may be caused by three possibilities.
1. First acute damage to kidneys caused by severe acute pancreatitis which we call AKI in medical term.
2. Second possibility is that he has prior chronic damage to
kidney which is being detected during this admission.
3. Third possibility is combination of both acute and chronic damage.
Regarding outcomes, acute damage might recover in 2-4 weeks, but that’s not guaranteed. Chronic damage almost never recovers.
