Yes, what you are describing fits very clearly with health anxiety. When you already have a long history of hypochondria, even a slightly abnormal test value can trigger intense fear. After searching symptoms online, your brain goes into danger mode, and the body starts reacting with real physical sensations like stomach pain, heaviness, or discomfort. The fact that the pain settles after sleep is a strong sign that anxiety is driving these symptoms, not a serious kidney problem. Anxiety can create very real bodily sensations, even when medical reports are reassuring. What will help is not more tests or Googling, but working on breaking the anxiety cycle. This includes reducing reassurance-seeking and internet searches, learning to tolerate uncertainty about health, and calming your nervous system when fear spikes. Therapy helps you retrain your mind so every symptom does not turn into a catastrophe and slowly gives you your life back from constant fear. Hypochondria is exhausting, but it is very treatable with the right approach. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five

Hi, What you are describing fits very well with health anxiety (hypochondriasis). A slightly raised kidney value once- especially when previous tests were normal- is very common and often related to temporary factors like dehydration, recent illness, diet, medicines, or lab variation. The pattern you mention is important: pain or discomfort increases with worry and Google searching, and settles after sleep. This strongly suggests an anxiety-driven bodily symptom, not progressive kidney disease. Health anxiety can make normal body sensations feel intense and alarming.
Next Steps
- Get one calm medical review of the report with your doctor and follow their advice (repeat test only if advised). - Stop repeated testing and Google searching—this maintains the anxiety cycle. - Consult a psychiatrist or psychologist for health anxiety; effective treatments are available. - Treatment may include: a. CBT (very effective for health anxiety) b. Anti-anxiety / antidepressant medication if symptoms are severe or long-standing c. Maintain regular sleep, meals, hydration, and physical activity.
Health Tips
- A single mildly abnormal lab value does not mean disease. - Googling symptoms increases fear and physical sensations- try a “no-Google” rule. - Reassurance works only briefly; learning to tolerate uncertainty is the key skill. - Seek urgent care only if you have persistent severe pain, swelling, blood in urine, fever, or reduced urine output- not just worry.
