Hello Doctor, My friend (28 yrs) is pregnant -20 weeks and 4 days. Due to issues with inlaws and husband she's planning to get divorce. Can she can get abortion within 24 weeks? Is it safe for my friend to get aborted within 24 weeks? Will there be any health issues? Even if she delivered the baby- it will be a huge effect on baby from the society. And the she can't raise the child sololy. Please suggest Doctor, Thank you.

More of a social and legal problem than a medical problem She should first get clearance from the local Medical College that an MTP should be done. After that she should get it done. No one will do this job in Private Practice
