Abcessed Tooth
Hi,
My son 3.5 yrs old is having abcess (sinus) formed on premolar. The abcess does not pain and drains with saline water rinses. The molar has filling in it which was done a year ago, but the pulp was exposed. His pediatric dentist is suggesting for extraction.
I have a query that can we save the tooth by getting rct done rather than extraction. As per his dentist, success rate of rct on abcessed tooth is less. Pls suggest

It’s nowhere stated that success rate of an abcessed tooth is less, he must try rct and save the tooth , if even after rct, the abscess doesn’t subside , then only we proceed for an extraction. I had a similar case with the same age, I treated with rct and it’s successful
