3 teeth extraction for braces overbite.

2022-10-03 09:56:48
My orthodentist said that i have to extract 3 teeth for overbite braces, 2 from upper and 1 from lower. I fear that my 1 lower tooth extraction from lower jaw would result in assymmetrical, as there would be uneven number of teeth. Will my 1 lower tooth extraction lead to assymmetrical? Why is my orthodentist saying to extract one lower tooth as this can lead to assymmetrical and uneven number of teeth.

Your orthodontist suggested to remove only 1 tooth from lower jaw,may be due to less requirement of space.it won't lead to asymmetry.

Hey If you are already undergoing orthodontic treatment under a specialist (orthodontist) so you need not worry about his or her treatment plan. Generally teeth are extracted to gain space so if your treating doctor feels there is less requirement of space in the lower jaw thn the upper jaw , he / she must have advised for only 1 tooth extraction instead of 2. Asymmetry will be managed by him as he must have planned your treatment accordingly. Still if you want we can do a video consultation with our orthodontist who can explain you well. Thanks
