2022-04-08 11:57:48
So a gastro doctor advised me ultrasound last September(2021), incidentally a 2.9mm gallbladder polyp was found, I was asked to repeat ultrasound 1 year later, but a relative who's a doctor suggested to get ultrasound every 6 months, it's 6 months already, should I go for ultrasound or should I wait for 1 year? Please help. Also i am very scared for ultrasound, that what if it finds something sinister :(

See man i will tell you ideally it should be done at 3 months then 6 months then yearly if everything is stable. It's done just to check the size is increasing or not . As the size of your polyp is only 2.9mm so you don't need to worry. Normally gallbladder polyp are asymptomatic and is generally diagnosed accidentally. Generally it's benign in nature ok. So just go for the USG nothing sinister is going to happen.
