Afb sputum.test positive
Hi doctors.. Afb sputum test shows positive 3 +. Please suggest how extent is it dangerous. Also pls advise on precautions to take. We already in contact with a doctor here but also need your valuable suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hello there...I can understand your concern. If two of your sputum samples have come as after positive, then it indicates you are suffering from tuberculosis. It is a respiratory tract infection. You will need to be further investigated(like chest x ray) before starting treatment. Treatment is about 6 months long if you belong to category a. Also the treatment is available free through rntcp program. Consult your pulmonologist. They will guide you further.
