Dr. Karthik M Selvaraj completed MBBS., from the prestigious Government Stanley Medical College, Chennai. He did his MS Ortho from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, the premier Post Graduate Training Institute of India.He worked as a senior Resident at AIIMS and the JPN Apex Trauma Centre affiliated to it. At AIIMS Dr.Karthik received expert training in the care of Orthopeadic trauma patients as well as Joint Reconstruction Arthroscopy Hand Surgery and Sports Medicine.He then worked in Christ Church Hospital, New Zealand as a shoulder Fellow. He gained experience in the assessment and management of injuries in the upper limb. He did another Upper Limb Fellowship program in Wiakato Hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand. Dr. Karthik then left for Adelaide, Australia and worked at Flinders Medical Centre as a Fellow in Trauma and Joint Reconstruction. He received advance training in Trauma and Replacement surgeries at Adelaide. He was selected to work as an advance trauma fellow at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. Alfred Hospital is the leading Level Three Trauma Centre of Australia, which receives maximum number of polytrauma patients.He was trained in pelviacetabular trauma at Alfred Hospital.His special interests include shoulder and elbow surgery, arthroscopy and sports medicine. He routinely performs shoulder and elbow arthroscopies, Upper limb fracture surgery and Shoulder and Elbow replacement surgeries.He is also a sports enthusiast, a keen swimmer, a certified scuba diver and a cyclist.

I was slipped and fell down on hard open ground while running with chappals during a games session 56 days before. There was no pain in my knee for 2 days. Then pain started slowly and managed for few days but as it cotinued I went to physiotherapy for 2 weeks . As it was not recovered and I feel pain while claiming stairs up and down and also using left leg on clutch of car it again pain on left knee. The right knee was also less pain. Hence I went to Ortho one hospital. Dr. Karthik Selvaraj had examined both knees and on verify with X Ray , gave treatment thro Medicare and exercise . To day I feel better and hope I will recover soon. Dr's opinion gave much relief to me.

Very Very happy that I ended up with such a wonderful & humble doctor to be honest. Dr.Karthik Selvaraj was referred to me by brother Dr.Gokul Kruba Shankar ( VGM Hospital,Coimbatore). I met with a road accident & injured my Elbow, On day 1 when I went to see the doctor he initially advised me to wait for sometime before going for a surgery, because the Elbow issue may get alright. He was not like other Hospitals & doctors, who were suggesting for an immediate surgery ( I don't want to name them actually) Dr.Karthik was so good in handling the injured, I told Doctor since I like Badminton & regularly playing, i would want my Elbow 100% back as it was before, he took good care of me & gave confidence which made me play Badminton again in just 3 months.Post surgery my Physio Mr.Aravind helped me a lot as well. Once again I thank you sir.

A very understanding approach shown by the doctor while dealing with my elderly mother not only put her at ease but made her feel that she was on safe hands & would recover too. I found Dr Karthik a very relaxed & a patient loving doctor, a quality very special.
Only a suggestion that X ray waiting for a 85 year old patient could have been reduced with better understanding of the X ray staff. Although I found the mention of same in the x-ray patient counter no such consideration was given & we waited for our turn like any regular patient.

Checked both physically and clinically. Diagnosis was based on clinical tests like blood chemistry and X-Ray of the affected area.
Pleasant bedside manners. Eventually administered an injection into the shoulder. Very steady hand. I felt almost no pain. Even 24 hours after the injection there is no discomfort.

I was admitted for a acl reconstruction and i was very satisfied with the procedure.Dr.Karthik Selvaraj took care of me well and was discharged the very next day of the surgery. Had consultation with Dr.Karthik sir at Ortho one about my father's (70yrs) rotator cuff injury and he suggested us to go for open rotator cuff surgery as the tear was massive. Much impressed with doctor's simple and accurate examination on illness after that the surgery he did. Also he is very kind and friendly.
