He was the President of Tamilnadu Ophthalmic Association (TNOA) in 2015 and President of All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) in 2016.Created e-awareness among the Ophthalmologists and started Email group to discuss, clear clinical doubts in day-to-day practice, which is being accessed by nearly 8400 ophthalmologists on a daily basis.Edited two editions of "Ready Reckoner in Ophthalmology" for a universal code of preferred practice covering the entire gamut of ophthalmology. This book with more than 300 authors contributing is a ready reference for the practitioner as well as student of ophthalmology.Is happily married to Chitra, herself an accomplished Ophthalmologist. Son is an ophthalmologist while daughter is a medico.Listening to music & travelling are his passions. Has trekked to the base camp of Mt. Everest, in the interiors of Himachal, in Black Forest in Germany & in Newzeland.
