Dr. Kavya Somesh says "After I graduated from medical school, I completed M.D in internal medicine and undertook special training in diabetes in Dr. A.R Diabetic hospital. Personalized and comprehensive care of diabetes is lacking at many places. I joined RIGHT hospitals which are a plastic surgery based hospital for exclusive care of diabetic foot complications, hand deformities and lot more. So we provide an overall care for diabetes and diabetic foot. Having interests in Gestational diabetes I also joined Joseph nursing home. In many diabetic hospitals, they just treat diabetes and not the patient as a whole. Not just diabetes, but the overall wellbeing and obesity care and general ailments including hypertension, thyroid and asthma problems should be taken care of. I would like to be called as a family physician rather than just a diabetologist."
