Dr. Vidula Kamath is an alumnus of the prestigious Seth G. S. Medical College and K. E. M. Memorial Hospital, having completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate training from the storied institution. During her training, she worked in the fields of photodermatology, vitiligo, psoriasis, contact dermatitis and diagnostic digital dermoscopy apart from clinical dermatology and venereology. She completed her dissertation in digital dermoscopy in lichen planus and was awarded Gold medal for the paper titled ‘Digital dermoscopy: A Novel Aid to the Diagnosis of Lichen planus’ at the Dr. Shirin Mehtaji Scientific Paper Competition held at the Cama and Albless Hospital in 2006. In the course of her career, she has presented various papers and posters in National and State conferences and has also published in indexed peer-reviewed dermatology journals.She is attached to Dr. L. H. Hiranandani Hospital for the past 11 years. Her forte is clinical dermatology, with a special interest in age specific off- shoots of dermatology i.e. pediatric and geriatric dermatology and gender specific dermatology and therapeutics primarily photodermatology and contact allergy. Despite being in private practice, she writes regularly and her articles have been published in the ‘Complete Well Being’ magazine, a publication that promotes holistic healing and healthy living. She is an avid reader devouring not just scientific material, but also the literary classics. She also attends as many CMEs and academic conferences as possible, to keep abreast of the latest developments in her field. She also presents papers at conferences regularly, the latest being, ‘A Humble Vesicle: An Unusual Key Unlocking a Medical Mystery’ regarding an unusual presentation of parvovirus infection. She is fortunate to be associated academically with MOGS(and FOGSI) when she spoke on STIs in adolescents at the Pre congress workshop Adolescent Gynaecology of the conference “Harmony with Hormones” held in Mumbai in 2014 and on ‘Vulvovaginitis – A Dermatologist’s perspective’ at the conference on “Infections in Obgyn” held on June 2017 in Mumbai.
