Myopia is a condition in which nearby objects can be clearly seen but faraway objects cannot be clearly seen as they appear blur.

Myopia is diagnosed by a complete eye exam and a standard vision test in which a patient is asked to read letters in a chart placed at a distance in a room.

Myopia can be corrected by wearing glasses or contact lenses. Another treatment option is performing eye surgery called LASIK.
5. Can it lead to blindness?
It is very rare but yes blindness can happen if myopia reaches an advanced stage.
