Ayurvedic massage involves the use of organic oils infused with organic herbs chosen according to the predominant dosha of the body. It also focuses on the energy points of the body whereas regular massage involves the use of any organic or inorganic oil on the muscles without focussing on the energy points.

Organic oils like mustard oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, almond oil and castor oil are used. Essential oils like wintergreen, eucalyptus, mint, cinnamon, clove, sandalwood, khus, cedarwood, rose and camphor may be used along with organic oils or individually.
