Description

Zoxan-D Eye/Ear Drops is a combination of Ciprofloxacin and Dexamethasone. It is used to treat eye and ear infections caused by bacteria. It is also used to prevent swelling and bacterial infections that may occur after eye surgery. It works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. It also reduces pain and swelling associated with an infection. This medicine is effective only for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria and not viruses or fungi. Zoxan-D Eye/Ear Drops may cause side effects such as pain, dryness of the eyes, ear/eye discomfort, and irritation at the site of application. These symptoms usually subside on their own. However, consult your doctor if these symptoms stay for a long time or if they become severe. Zoxan-D Eye/Ear Drops is meant for external use only. It should be instilled as prescribed by your doctor. Continue using the medicine for the prescribed duration. Skipping doses or not completing the full course of treatment may result in decreased effectiveness of the medicine or increased risk of re-infection that would be difficult to treat in the future. Zoxan-D Eye/Ear Drops is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you are using any other eye/ear drops or have any other eye/ear problems. Zoxan-D Eye/Ear Drops should be used with caution if you have a history of cataract (clouding of the lens of the eyes leading to blurred vision) or glaucoma (an eye condition that occurs due to increased pressure in the eyes) as it may worsen your condition. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your intraocular pressure (pressure within your eyes) if this medicine is prescribed for more than 10 days.

Perforated eardrum

A perforated eardrum is a condition with a hole or tears in the tissue that separates your ear canal from your eardrum (middle ear). It can result in hearing loss and also makes your middle ear vulnerable to infections. Zoxan-D Eye/Ear Drops should be used with caution if you have a perforated eardrum due to the increased risk of toxicity.
