Description
Zobra Eye Ointment is a topical antibiotic used to treat bacterial eye infections. It works by blocking the production of essential proteins required for bacterial growth. This prevents further growth and kills the infection-causing bacteria.
Zobra Eye Ointment may cause side effects such as blurred vision, swelling of eyelids, itchiness, redness, irritation, or burning/stinging sensation in your eyes, etc. These symptoms usually subside on their own. However, consult your doctor if they persist or worsen.
Zobra Eye Ointment should be instilled in your eyes as prescribed by your doctor. You will start to feel better in a few days. However, continue using the medicine for the prescribed duration. Skipping doses or not completing the course of treatment may result in decreased effectiveness of the medicine or increased risk of re-infection that would be difficult to treat in the future. This medicine is effective only for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria and not viruses.
Zobra Eye Ointment is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have any other eye conditions or using any other eye drops. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medication.

Antibiotic resistance

Use in children
Zobra Eye Ointment is not recommended for use in children below two months of age unless directed by your doctor.

Zobra Eye Ointment is meant for external use only. Administer it as directed by your doctor.
Avoid touching the tip of the dropper against your eye or other surfaces. Close the cover of the bottle after administration to keep it clean and free from contamination. Do not wipe or rinse the dropper tip.
Use Zobra Eye Ointment at around the same time daily for the ease of remembering. Ensure that you complete the course of the treatment to prevent re-infection.
Do not touch your eyes with unwashed hands. Avoid sharing items like eyeglasses, contact lenses, pillows, towels, clothes, or eye or face makeup when you have eye infections.
