Description

Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT contains Oxcarbazepine that is used to treat epilepsy/seizures (a medical condition in which there may be a sudden uncontrolled disturbance in the brain). This medicine is used only to prevent seizure episodes but is not effective to cure the condition. Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT works by reducing the abnormal electrical activity in the brain, thus preventing seizures (fits). Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT can cause side effects like fatigue, loss of coordination, dry mouth, headache, nausea, etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects become severe. Avoid driving or operating machines as this medicine can cause dizziness, drowsiness and can affect your mental focus. This medicine may cause mood and behavioural changes. If you experience mood changes or suicidal thoughts, contact your doctor immediately. Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT can be taken with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Your dose will be dependant on your condition. You should keep taking Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT for the prescribed duration, even if you feel better after a few doses. Take this medicine at the same time every day for the ease of remembering. If stopped abruptly, you might experience withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, fatigue, sweating, vomiting, depression, seizures, and hallucinations. Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT is not recommended in children less than four years of age. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney problems or other medical conditions. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT is not recommended for use if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding.

Epilepsy

Epilepsy/seizures (fits) is a brain disorder that occurs due to sudden uncontrolled disturbance in the brain. This condition is characterized by uncontrolled jerking movements, changes in your behaviour, movements or feelings, and loss of consciousness. Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT is used in the treatment of recurrent seizure episodes. This medicine is used only to prevent seizure episode but do not cure them.

Suicidal tendencies

Changes in mood and behaviour if any are to be reported to the doctor. Your doctor may monitor your condition while on treatment with this medicine as needed.

Skin reactions

Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT should be used with caution since it may cause skin reactions like Drug reactions with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS). The treatment should be discontinued if any symptoms of a skin rash appear.

Driving or operating machinery

Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT may cause dizziness or drowsiness. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms after taking this medicine.

Other medicines

Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT may interact with many other medicines and may cause severe undesirable effects. Inform your doctor about all your current medications before beginning treatment with this medicine.

Withdrawal symptoms

Abrupt discontinuation of Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT may increase the risk of undesirable effects, especially if you have been using a high dose for a long duration. A gradual dose reduction is recommended to avoid these reactions. Do not stop using this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Hyponatremia

Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT may lower the sodium levels in the body and may cause clinically significant hyponatremia (decreased sodium levels). Any signs and symptoms of low sodium levels, nausea, headache, weakness should be reported to your doctor.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a dose of Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at your usual time. Do not double up your dose.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose of Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT.

Avoid driving vehicles or performing any activity that requires mental focus as Zenoxa 300 MG Tablet DT can cause sleepiness and/or drowsiness which can affect your ability to focus.
