Description

Zedrin Plus Tablet is a combination of Cetirizine, Paracetamol and Phenylephrine. It is used to treat the symptoms of common cold such as sneezing, runny nose, cough, watery eyes, nasal congestion, etc. along with pain and fever. Zedrin Plus Tablet may cause some common side effects such as sleepiness, diarrhoea, nausea, dryness in the mouth, dizziness, headache, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms stay for a long time or if they become severe. Zedrin Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food. Take this medicine for the prescribed duration. Consult your doctor if the symptoms do not improve in a week. In case of a missed dose, take it as soon as you remember, provided it is not time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one. In case of an overdose, consult your doctor immediately. Zedrin Plus Tablet is not recommended if you are previously allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, high blood pressure, or diabetes. This medicine is not recommended in children below 12 years of age. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Allergy

Severe liver impairment

Severe liver impairment is a condition of reduced liver function. Zedrin Plus Tablet is not recommended as it may worsen your condition.

Severe kidney impairment

Zedrin Plus Tablet is not is not recommended if you have severe kidney problems with a creatinine clearance less than 10 ml/min as it may worsen your condition.

Pregnancy

Due to the lack of sufficient safety data in pregnant women, the risk to the developing foetus is not known. If you are pregnant, use Zedrin Plus Tablet only if prescribed by your doctor.

Breast-feeding

General warnings

Driving or operating machines

Zedrin Plus Tablet may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid performing any activities that require high mental alertness like driving or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

How it works

Zedrin Plus Tablet is a combination of Cetirizine, Paracetamol and Phenylephrine. Cetirizine works by blocking the action of histamine, a chemical substance in the body responsible for allergic symptoms. Thus it provides relief from allergy. Paracetamol works by preventing the formation of prostaglandin, the chemical responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine acts on the blood vessels in the nose and helps in relieving congestion.
