Description

Ursokem 150 MG Tablet is a bile acid used to dissolve gallstones that are rich in cholesterol and prevent gallstones in overweight people who are planning on losing weight rapidly. Ursokem 150 MG Tablet is also used in the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis. It is a condition that impairs the liver's ability to function properly and causes a build-up of a fluid called bile within the liver. It may gradually worsen over time. This medicine works by decreasing the toxic levels of bile acid that may accumulate in such a condition. Ursokem 150 MG Tablet shows side effects like indigestion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, back pain, etc. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Ursokem 150 MG Tablet may be taken after a meal. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of treatment based on your clinical condition. Take this medicine for the recommended duration to prevent the formation of a certain type of gallstone. Ursokem 150 MG Tablet should be used with caution if you have liver problems. What is it prescribed for?

Dissolution of cholesterol rich gallstones

Gallstones are hardened deposits, usually made of cholesterol or bilirubin, that can form in your gallbladder (a small organ under your liver). Ursokem 150 MG Tablet is used to dissolve gallstones which are formed by cholesterol deposits. It is also used to prevent gallstone formation in some people.

Primary biliary cirrhosis

Primary biliary cirrhosis is a liver condition that causes a buildup of bile (a fluid formed by the liver that helps in digestion) within the liver, resulting in damage to the small bile ducts that drain bile from the liver. It may gradually worsen over time. Ursokem 150 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis.

Biliary tract disorder

Ursokem 150 MG Tablet is not recommended for use if you have conditions such as biliary obstructions (when your bile duct becomes blocked), swelling of the bile duct and gallbladder, or gallstone pancreatitis (when a gallstone blocks your pancreatic duct and cause swelling of your pancreas) with compelling reasons for cholecystectomy (a surgical procedure to remove your gallbladder, an organ located below your liver that stores the digestive fluid).

Gallbladder disorder

Ursokem 150 MG Tablet is not recommended for use if you have a non-functional gallbladder or conditions like swelling or impaired contractility of the gallbladder.

Presence of calcified gallstone

Ursokem 150 MG Tablet is not recommended for use if you have gallstones formed due to the deposition of calcium. This medicine may not be effective in such a condition.

Chronic liver disease

Ursokem 150 MG Tablet is not recommended for use if you have severe liver problems, as it may worsen the liver condition.

Inflammatory bowel disease

Inflammatory bowel disease is a group of conditions that affect the intestine causing pain and swelling. Ursokem 150 MG Tablet is not recommended for use if you have inflammatory bowel disease.
