Description

Thrombophob-Gel is an anticoagulant used for the dissolution of blood clots below the surface of the skin. It helps to dissolve the blood clot, reduce the pain and swelling due to superficial thrombophlebitis- a condition of swollen veins due to a blood clot. Thrombophob-Gel is also used to treat and prevent the formation of blood clots in veins and arteries due to anal fissures, skin ulcers and injury. Side effects are minimal to Thrombophob-Gel. A burning sensation, irritation or redness are experienced by some patients after using this medicine. These symptoms last only for a very few days and disappear with time. Do not use this medicine if you are previously allergic to it. Clean and dry the affected areas before application. Apply a thin layer of Thrombophob-Gel to the affected areas as instructed by the doctor. Wash your hands before and after the application, unless hands are affected. Uses of Thrombophob-Gel

What is it prescribed for?

Superficial Bruises

Bruises are discolourations of the skin due to injury. During a skin injury, small blood vessels called capillaries near the skin's surface burst. This traps blood below the skin’s surface resulting in a black and blue mark colour. Bruises can be painless or extremely painful. Thrombophob-Gel is used to heal bruises and prevents internal clotting of blood due to an injury.

Thrombophlebitis

Thrombophlebitis is a condition of swollen veins due to a blood clot below the surface of the skin. This condition can occur due to an injury to a vein, as an inherited blood-clotting disorder or when being immobilised for long periods. It is commonly seen on the legs, but it can also occur in the arms and neck. Normally, it goes within 2 to 6 weeks. Thrombophob-Gel is used to ease pain, swelling, or discomfort due to thrombophlebitis.

Anal Fissures and Hemorrohoids

Haemorrhoids and anal fissures are conditions of swelling of veins located in the anus or rectum. Lumps can occur inside the rectum or below the skin around the anus. Thrombophob-Gel improves blood flow, reduces breakage of veins and prevents blood clotting in these conditions.
