Sufrate LA Cream is a combination medicine consisting of metronidazole, lidocaine and sucralfate. It is used rectally to treat anal fissures and helps in relieving pain and swelling due to fissures and haemorrhoids. This medicine is also used to reduce pain after anorectal surgeries. Sufrate LA Cream works by killing the bacteria that causes infection and promotes healing of infection. It also reduces pain by blocking pain signals to the brain. Sufrate LA Cream shows common side effects that include rectal bleeding, skin rash, burning sensation, itching and irritation at the application site, etc. If any of these symptoms persist for a long time or bothers you, consult your doctor immediately. Avoid using Sufrate LA Cream if previously allergic to it. This cream is not recommended to use in children as safety has not been studied. Sufrate LA Cream is for external use only.
