Description

S Film 50 Film is a medicine that contains Sildenafil. It is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. Erectile dysfunction is a condition where a man is unable to achieve and/or maintain an erection adequate for sexual intercourse. This happens because of decreased blood flow due to physical injuries and certain medical conditions or due to some psychological conditions such as anxiety, stress, depression, etc. S Film 50 Film works by relaxing the blood vessels and increasing the flow of blood to the penis. S Film 50 Film shows common side effects such as runny or stuffy nose, difficulty in sleeping, flushing (redness and feeling of warmth), headache, stomach upset, etc. These side effects usually subside with time. However, consult your doctor for further assistance if they persist or worsen. Avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines while taking this medication as it can cause dizziness and blurred vision. S Film 50 Film can be taken with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor. It is recommended that you take the medicine at least 30-60 minutes before having sexual intercourse. This medicine will help you get/maintain an erection only if you are sexually stimulated. Do not take extra pills for quick results. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it makes you feel dizzy. S Film 50 Film is not recommended if you are allergic to it. It should be avoided if you have heart problems or a recent history of stroke (reduced blood supply to the brain) or angina (chest pain and discomfort). It should be taken with caution if you have liver or kidney conditions or bleeding disorders. S Film 50 Film is intended only for men. It is not recommended for use in women and children.

Uses of S Film 50 Film

What is it prescribed for?

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction or impotence is a condition where a man is unable to achieve/maintain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. It happens due to decreased blood flow to the penis. This may be due to physical problems such as an injury; conditions like benign prostatic hypertrophy (prostate gland enlargement), high sugar level, neuropathy (nerve pain), and prostate cancer; and psychological causes such as anxiety, stress, depression, etc. Habits such as smoking, drinking, etc., could also contribute to ED. S Film 50 Film is used to help sustain an erection by increasing the blood flow to the penis. While it is important to treat the underlying cause of ED, it is also important to undergo counseling and lifestyle modifications along with treatment with this medicine to achieve the best possible effect.

Nitrate containing medicines

If you have been prescribed any medicine that contains nitrates such as Nitroglycerin, Isosorbide, etc, avoid taking S Film 50 Film as it lowers blood pressure and leads to cardiovascular collapse (a dangerous drop in the blood pressure that can be fatal). The risk of other side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, headache, flushing, heart palpitations, and priapism (prolonged and painful erection unrelated to sexual activity) may also increase.

General warnings

Hypotension (low blood pressure levels)

Deformation of penis

S Film 50 Film should be used with caution if you have a physical deformity of the penis which may be due to penile angulation (abnormal bend of the penis), and cavernosal fibrosis (formation of abnormal fibrous tissue in the penis). The risk of permanent loss of sexual potency is very high if you use this medicine for such conditions. Replacement with a suitable alternative will be done by your doctor based on your clinical condition.

Priapism

Priapism, a painful erection lasting for more than four hours. S Film 50 Film may cause priapism in some people. Priapism may result in penile tissue damage and permanent loss of potency if not treated promptly. Use S Film 50 Film with caution in such conditions. If an erection persists longer than four hours, you should seek immediate medical assistance.

Loss of hearing

S Film 50 Film has been associated with a sudden decrease or loss of hearing. It may be accompanied by tinnitus (ringing of ears) or dizziness as the increased blood flow to the ears may cause damage. This medicine is not recommended if you have hearing problems. Seek prompt medical attention if you experience any hearing loss after taking this medicine.

Effect on vision

Cases of visual defect have been reported with S Film 50 Film especially if used together with other PDE5 inhibitors (Phosphodiesterase type 5) medicines. If you experience any sudden loss of vision, stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.

Heart diseases

S Film 50 Film should be used with extreme caution if you have conditions related to the heart and blood vessels. It is not recommended if you had a heart attack, stroke (sudden blockage of blood to your brain), or life-threatening irregular heart rhythm within the last six months. Use of this medicine is not recommended if your doctor has asked you to not indulge in any sexual activity due to the potential risk.

Surgery

S Film 50 Film can cause a severe drop in your blood pressure when combined with the effects of anaesthesia and other medicines used during surgery. If you are taking this medicine, inform your doctor before undergoing any surgery.

Use in children

S Film 50 Film is not recommended for use in children less than 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy data are not clinically established.

Counseling
