Description
Pyridoxine is a naturally occurring form of vitamin B6. It is necessary for maintaining important functions in the body such as glucose and amino acid metabolism, production of RBCs, proper functioning of the nervous system, etc. It is used for the treatment and prevention of vitamin B6 deficiency (both drug-induced and dietary). It is also used for the treatment of anemia in adults and for vitamin B6-dependent seizures in children.

What is it prescribed for?
Drug induced Pyridoxine deficiency
This medicine is used for the treatment of pyridoxine deficiency caused by the intake of drugs such as cycloserine, isoniazid, penicillamine, oral contraceptives, etc.
Dietary Deficiency
This medicine is used as a supplement if there is a dietary deficiency of vitamin B6.
Anemia
This medicine is used in the treatment of hereditary sideroblastic anemia.
Pregnancy Induced Nausea and Vomiting
This medicine is used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy.
Pyridoxine-dependent seizures
This medicine is used in the treatment of pyridoxine-dependent seizures in children.
Premenstrual syndrome
