Description

Phytoral 2% Ointment is an antifungal medicine that contains ketoconazole as an active ingredient. It is used in the treatment of various fungal infections of the skin like athlete's foot (a fungal infection that usually begins between the toes), jock itch (a fungal infection that causes a red and itchy rash in warm and moist areas of the body) and ringworm infections. It damages the cell membrane of the fungus which kills it and prevents the further spread of fungal infections. Phytoral 2% Ointment may cause side effects such as acne, blistering, cracked/dry scaly skin, itching or stinging at the site of application. Consult your doctor if these effects persist. Do not use this ointment if you are allergic to it. Before you start using it, perform a patch test by applying it to a small area on your skin to know how your skin will react to this medicine. Discontinue the use and consult your doctor if you experience severe burning, itching of the skin etc. Phytoral 2% Ointment should be used as per your doctor’s instructions. Before using this ointment, make sure your hands are clean and follow all of the instructions given in the package leaflet. It should be applied before using other skin preparations (e.g. everyday moisturiser or sunscreen). Avoid direct contact with eyes, mouth, or open wounds, in case of accidental contact rinse thoroughly with water. Phytoral 2% Ointment may not be safe to be used in pregnancy. It is safe to be used in breastfeeding. However, it is advised that consult your doctor before using it. Do not stop using this medicine without consulting your doctor. Inform your doctor if your condition has not been better even after 4 weeks of treatment. This medicine is not recommended in children under 18 years of age.
