Description

Ovral Tablet is a combination of Levonorgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol. It is used as an oral contraceptive to prevent unwanted pregnancy. It works by preventing the fertilization of the egg. Ovral Tablet may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, weight change, irregular periods, slight bleeding between periods, breast tenderness, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Avoid smoking during treatment with Ovral Tablet as it may increase the risk of blood clots, heart attack, or stroke (brain damage due to the interrupted blood supply to the brain). Ovral Tablet is a prescription medicine. Take this medicine as instructed by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day for ease of remembering. Make sure you do not miss a dose, as you are more likely to become pregnant in such cases. Ovral Tablet should be avoided if you have heart or liver problems, stroke, untreated or uncontrolled high blood pressure, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, or liver, breast, or uterus/cervix cancer. Inform your doctor if you have other medical conditions to make sure this medicine is safe for you. Ovral Tablet is not recommended for use before menarche (the first occurrence of menstruation) or after menopause (the end of the menstrual cycles). Estrogen-dependent tumor

Ovral Tablet is not recommended for use if you have or have had cancer that is attributed to abnormal levels of the hormone oestrogen in your body such as breast or uterus cancer.

Liver disease

Ovral Tablet is not recommended for use if you have liver problems or liver tumour, as it may further worsen your condition.

Uncontrolled hypertension
