Description

Odoxil OD Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that is used to treat bacterial infections of the throat, skin, soft tissues, urinary tract, etc. Odoxil OD Tablet is available in different dosage forms like tablet, tablet DT, capsule, syrup, powder for suspension and injection. It kills the bacteria, thereby stopping the infection from spreading. This medicine is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Your doctor may prescribe this medicine alone or in combination with other medications to treat bacterial infections. Odoxil OD Tablet may cause side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worsen. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. The syrup and powder for suspension of cefadroxil are mainly given in children from 1 month to 11 years of age. The tablet, capsule and injection forms are not recommended in children below 12 years of age. Odoxil OD Tablet is not recommended for use in infants below 1 month of age due to the lack of safety data. Odoxil OD Tablet oral forms should be taken with or without food. Cefadroxil injection will be given by your doctor in the hospital setting. For the ease of remembering, take this medicine around the same time every day. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of the treatment. Taking an antibiotic when it is not required can make it less effective for future infections. Odoxil OD Tablet effects may be delayed when taken immediately after receiving live vaccines. Therefore, take Odoxil OD Tablet at least 1-2 hours after taking the vaccine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, are breastfeeding before taking this medicine. If you have liver or kidney problems, do not use Odoxil OD Tablet without consulting your doctor. Odoxil OD Tablet is not recommended for use in case of a common cold, flu or other viral infections.
