Description

Neopristal Capsule is a medication that is used for intermittent treatment of moderate to severe symptoms of uterine fibroids (abnormal growth in the uterus) and also as an emergency contraceptive. In adult women with fibroids who have not reached menopause (cessation of menstruation), lower doses (5mg/10mg/15mg) are preferred for treatment. As an emergency contraceptive, Neopristal Capsule is used in high doses (30mg). Neopristal Capsule reduces the size of fibroids by blocking the effects of progesterone. Progesterone is a sex hormone involved in the menstrual cycle, pregnancy and the formation of eggs (primary female gamete). As a contraceptive, it prevents the release of the egg during ovulation. Neopristal Capsule may cause certain side effects like nausea, missed periods, weakness, headache, dizziness, etc. Talk to your doctor if these symptoms persist for a long time. Do not take Neopristal Capsule if you have ever been allergic to it. This medicine should not be given to children under the age of 18 years. Neopristal Capsule should be taken only if your doctor has prescribed it. The dose of the medicine and duration of treatment is determined by your health condition and other underlying diseases. Neopristal Capsule should not be used if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding. Do not take Neopristal Capsule if you have serious health conditions like liver problems or cancer (cervical, ovarian uterine).
