Description

Mucolite 75 mg Capsule SR is a mucolytic medicine containing Ambroxol. It is used to treat respiratory (airways and lungs) disorders associated with excessive mucous (thick slippery fluid) production. This medicine works by thinning and loosening the mucous so that it can be coughed out easily. This helps you to breathe easily. Mucolite 75 mg Capsule SR shows side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, dry mouth, etc. These side effects last for a short period and usually resolve on their own. However, consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Mucolite 75 mg Capsule SR should be taken preferably with food to avoid stomach irritation or as prescribed by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of the medicine in your blood. Do not start or stop taking this medicine without consulting with your doctor. Mucolite 75 mg Capsule SR is not recommended if you are allergic to it. What is it prescribed for?

Emphysema

Emphysema is a condition that involves damage to the walls of the alveoli (air sacs) of the lung. Mucolite 75 mg Capsule SR is used to ease the symptoms of emphysema like shortness of breath, persistent cough, and swelling of the airways of the lungs by making the sputum thin and less viscous and easy to cough out.

Tracheobronchitis

Tracheobronchitis is an infection causing swelling of the trachea (windpipe) and airways of the lungs. Mucolite 75 mg Capsule SR is used in the symptomatic treatment of Tracheobronchitis as it provides relief from symptoms such as excessive cough and thick sputum.

Acute exacerbations of bronchitis

Mucolite 75 mg Capsule SR may be used in the treatment of acute exacerbations (worsening) of bronchitis (swelling of the airways) in combination with other medicines as it helps in mucous secretion. Thus, it helps to improve cough as well as other symptoms and facilitates the removal of mucous from the airways.
