Description

Montral Kid Tablet is a combination medicine that contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. It is a very effective and potent medication used in children to treat year-round allergic symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, itching, hives (itchy, painful eruptions that sting), etc. This is a widely used combination medicine in providing relief from blockage of the nose. Montral Kid Tablet may cause some side effects like drowsiness, fever, rash, weakness, etc. However, these effects subside when your child adapts to this medicine. Consult your paediatrician if these symptoms persist for a long time or bother your child. Avoid giving this medicine if your child is allergic to it. Montral Kid Tablet can be taken with or without food. Finish the entire course of treatment with Montral Kid Tablet, even if your child's condition gets better after giving a few doses. If your child vomits within 30 minutes after taking this medicine, give the same dose. Montral Kid Tablet should be used with caution in children with kidney or liver problems. Inform your doctor about other medicines of your child and also share the complete medical history including any problems related to heart, lung, blood disorders or birth defects as this information helps in deciding dose and planning overall treatment of your child.

How it works

Levocetirizine blocks the action of a chemical substance (histamine) produced by the body that is responsible for causing allergic symptoms. Montelukast reduces the response of certain specific chemicals (leukotrienes) that causes swelling in the airways and the nose. Thus, the combination is effective in treating allergic symptoms in your child.
