Description

Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of Cefixime and Clavulanic acid. It is used to treat a variety of conditions such as urinary tract infections, ear infections, and lung infections caused by bacteria. It works by killing or stopping the growth and multiplication of bacteria. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet can cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, etc. Seek medical attention if any of these side effects persist or worsen. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. This medicine is not recommended for use in children less than 10 years of age. Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take this medicine same time every day. Be sure to complete the course as directed by your doctor in order to avoid bacterial resistance to this medicine. It may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills and the cholera vaccine. Hence, inform your doctor about your ongoing medicines. Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet may not be suitable for all people. Inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or blood clotting/bleeding issues before taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding mother before starting therapy with Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet as it may not be safe for use.

What is it prescribed for?

Uncomplicated urinary tract infections

An infection in any part of your urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra) is called a urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs are the most common infections in humans and women are at greater risk of getting this infection. UTIs are caused by bacteria and in some cases, viruses or fungi. Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet is used in the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

Upper Respiratory Tract Infection

Upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) are contagious infections caused by a variety of bacteria and viruses. The symptoms include a scratchy or sore throat, sneezing, stuffy nose and cough.Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet is used in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections caused by bacteria resistant to other commonly used antibiotics.

Tonsilitis/Pharyngitis

Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If the infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, then it would be called pharyngotonsillitis. Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet is used in the treatment of tonsillitis and pharyngitis caused by bacteria.

Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis

Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet is used in the treatment of an acute worsening of chronic bronchitis, an inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubules of the lungs, caused by bacteria.

Gonococcal infection

Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by Neisseria gonorrhoea bacteria that infects both men and women. General warnings

Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhoea

Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. This leads to an overgrowth of the Clostridium bacteria which releases a toxin that causes severe diarrhoea. Seek medical help if you experience severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody. Consult your pharmacist/doctor before taking anti-diarrhoeal medication.

Bleeding disorders

Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have bleeding disorders due to the increased risk of excessive bleeding. Regular monitoring of prothrombin time is necessary in such cases. Your doctor may adjust the dose of this medicine if required.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet, even if the condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, consult your doctor.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Milixim CV (200/125 mg) Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
