Description

M Tech Plus Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of Dicyclomine and Mefenamic acid. It is used to relieve menstrual cramps and pain. It is also used to provide relief from pain due to muscle spasms in the stomach and intestines. M Tech Plus Tablet works by stopping the release of chemicals called prostaglandins that are responsible for pain and swelling. M Tech Plus Tablet may cause some side effects like dizziness, sleepiness, stomach upset, dry mouth, blurred vision, nausea and vomiting. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Avoid taking it if you are allergic to this medicine. M Tech Plus Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. M Tech Plus Tablet should be taken with food to avoid stomach irritation. The dose of medicine and duration of treatment will be decided by your doctor based on your condition. For the ease of remembering, take it at around the same time every day. Do not stop using this medicine without consulting your doctor. M Tech Plus Tablet may cause dizziness or visual disturbances. Maintain caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine as it can increase your risk of stomach problems. Uses of M Tech Plus Tablet

What is it prescribed for?

Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea

Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea or painful menstruation is a throbbing, aching cramp or pain that you get in your lower abdomen just before and during your periods. Most of the women may experience this pain for 1-2 days of periods each month. Normally, the pain is mild, but for some women, the pain can be severe. M Tech Plus Tablet is used to get relief from cramps and aching pain in your belly during menstruation.

Colicky pains

Colicky pain is sharp and localized pain that starts and stops abruptly. It mainly occurs due to muscle contractions of hollow organs such as intestines, rectum, gallbladder and ureter as a result of obstruction by forcing content out. M Tech Plus Tablet is used to stop sudden muscle contractions or spasms and relieves colicky pain.

Diazo test for urinary bile

Diazo test is performed for estimation of pigments in urine. Treatment with M Tech Plus Tablet may give a false-positive result for this test. It is advised to inform the doctor and lab technician about the use of this medicine before undergoing this test.
M Tech Plus Tablet should preferably be taken with food. If you get diarrhoea while taking this medicine, stop taking it and consult your doctor. This medicine may cause dry mouth. Hence mouth rinses, good oral hygiene and increased water intake may help. It may cause dizziness, drowsiness or visual disturbances. Hence, do not drive or operate machines after taking it. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking M Tech Plus Tablet as it can cause excessive drowsiness and increase your risk of stomach problems.
