Description
Lutiderm Cream is a steroid used externally to treat skin problems. This includes itching, swelling, and irritated skin caused by diseases such as eczema (a skin condition in which skin becomes dry, itchy, red, and bumpy), dermatitis (skin irritation), and psoriasis (dry, itchy and scaly skin due to skin cells build up). It works by blocking the chemical messengers in your body that cause itching, redness and swelling.
Lutiderm Cream has some minor side effects like skin redness, itching and burning sensation. These symptoms last only for a very few days and disappear with time as your body adjusts to the medicine. You can do a patch test by applying it to a small area on your skin to know how your skin will react to this medicine. Inform your doctor and discontinue the use if you experience excessive itching or swelling.
Lutiderm Cream is only recommended for external use. Wash and dry the affected area before applying this medication. Apply a thin layer and do not cover it with a bandage or dressing, unless advised by your doctor. Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. In case of accidental contact, thoroughly rinse it with water.

Lutiderm Cream may induce or worsen hyperadrenocorticism. It is a condition in which your adrenal glands (glands attached just above your kidney that produce vital hormones) produce a high level of cortisol, a steroid hormone that regulates metabolism and immune response in your body.
Infections
Use Lutiderm Cream with extreme caution if you have latent or active infections. This medicine can suppress your immune system and may make you susceptible to infections. This risk is especially higher if you are on high doses of this medicine for a prolonged period of time.
Diaper rash
Lutiderm Cream should not be applied to diaper rashes since the risks of absorption and complications are significantly high. Replacement with a suitable alternative should be considered under your doctor's supervision.
