Uses of Luprorin 4 Injection

What is it prescribed for?

Prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is the abnormal growth of cells in the prostate gland. The prostate is a walnut-shaped gland that produces sperm-carrying fluid in men. This is a serious condition characterized by symptoms like pain in the lower pelvic area, difficulty in urinating, weak urine flow, blood in the urine, painful ejaculation, etc. Luprorin 4 Injection slows or prevents the growth of these cancer cells by lowering testosterone levels in men (sex hormone in males). Thus, this medicine helps in relieving your symptoms.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a condition characterized by abnormal growth of tissue that lines the uterus. Symptoms include irregular periods, pain and cramps in the lower abdomen, back pain, diarrhoea, etc. Luprorin 4 Injection works by slowing or preventing the abnormal growth of the uterus lining by lowering the level of estrogen (female sex hormone). This helps in relieving symptoms of endometriosis.

Uterine fibroids

Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growth of cells that form into lumps in the uterus. Luprorin 4 Injection suppresses the function of the enzyme that causes fibroid growth. As a result, they shrink in size and stop growing further. It also decreases the level of estrogen (hormones that cause females to have periods) and prevents heavy menstrual bleeding.

Central precocious puberty (CPP)

Central precocious puberty (CPP) is a condition in which there is early onset of puberty (the process of physical changes through which a child's body matures into an adult body) in children. Puberty usually begins from the age of 8-14 years. It is characterized by the early development of sexual characteristics and problems with bone growth. Luprorin 4 Injection helps in delaying the early onset of puberty by limiting the production of sex hormones (testosterone in boys and oestrogen in girls). This medicine should only be taken on your doctor’s recommendation.
