Description

Lucentis Livi 0.5 Injection is used to treat certain types of eye disorders. It is used for the treatment of a wet type of age-related macular degeneration, an eye disease that impairs central vision. It is also used for the treatment of swelling in the retina resulting due to diabetes or by blockage of blood flow from the eye.

What is it prescribed for?

Neovascular (Wet) Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)

This medicine is used for the treatment of a wet type of age-related macular degeneration, an eye disease that impairs central vision making difficult to read, drive, or perform other daily activities.

Diabetic retinopathy

This medicine is used for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy (a condition of damage to the retina due to diabetes) in patients with or without diabetic macular edema.

Macular Edema

This medicine is used for the treatment of macular edema, a condition that occurs due to the accumulation of fluids in the macula, an area in the center of the retina which may result in vision loss.

Diabetic macular edema

This medicine is used for the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME), a condition that occurs due to the accumulation of fluids in the macula, an area in the center of the retina in patients with diabetes.

General warnings

Thromboembolic events

Increase in intraocular pressure

This medicine may increase the intraocular pressure and hence should be used with extreme caution in patients with glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure) due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. It is recommended to monitor the intraocular pressure before and after therapy with this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Visual disturbances

This medicine may cause temporary visual disturbances in some patients on therapy. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any such symptoms.

Use in children

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
