What is it prescribed for?
Epilepsy
This medicine is used to treat seizures in patients suffering from epilepsy (a brain disorder that causes repeated seizures). Uncontrolled jerking movements and loss of consciousness are some of the symptoms of epilepsy.
Bipolar I disorder
This medicine may be used to delay mood episodes in adult patients with bipolar I disorder which is also known as a manic-depressive illness characterized by episodes of severe mania and often depression.
