K-Shine Lotion is a medicine that consists of Ketoconazole and Coal Tar. It is used to treat seborrheic dermatitis (a skin condition that may affect the scalp, face, and upper chest). It helps in relieving symptoms like dryness, flaking, itching of the skin, dandruff, etc., due to fungal infection. K-Shine Lotion works by killing the fungi and thereby helps in treating skin infections. K-Shine Lotion may cause side effects like hair loss, skin irritation, itching, dryness, burning sensation at the site of application, etc. These symptoms last only for a few days and disappear with time. Contact your doctor if these side effects persist for a long time. Avoid using K-Shine Lotion if you are allergic to it. Do not touch or scratch the affected area as it may cause the infection to spread. K-Shine Lotion is a prescription medicine. Your doctor will explain the dose of this lotion and the duration of treatment based on the severity of the infection. If the symptoms are not resolved within seven days, consult your doctor before continuing the treatment. It is for external use only. Hence, avoid contact with the eyes, ears, nose and mouth. In case of accidental contact, wash the area thoroughly with water. K-Shine Lotion is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.
