Description

Jagril Spas Tablet is used to relieve muscle cramps during periods. It also provides relief from pain due to muscle spasms in the body. Jagril Spas Tablet is effective in relieving a sharp, localized pain called colicky pain in the intestines, gall bladder, and urinary tract (such as in the kidneys or ureter). Side effects of Jagril Spas Tablet are dizziness, sleepiness, stomach upset, dry mouth, blurred vision, nausea and vomiting. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to this medicine. Maintain caution while using Jagril Spas Tablet in individuals with kidney and liver problems. Take Jagril Spas Tablet with food to avoid stomach irritation. For the ease of remembering, take it at around the same time every day. Do not stop using this medicine until the doctor tells you.

What is it prescribed for?

Mild to Moderate Pain associated with Muscle Spasm

Muscle spasm or contraction is the tightening of your muscles. It can be painful and can last from a few seconds to 15 minutes. The most common causes are strenuous exercise, muscle injuries, dehydration and low blood supply. It can affect the muscles in the arms, hands, thigh, legs, feet, stomach and intestinal wall. You may require medical attention if your muscle cramps are severe or last for a long time. Jagril Spas Tablet is used to relieve mild to moderate pain in the muscles.

Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea

Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea or painful periods is a throbbing, aching cramp or pain that you get in your lower belly just before and during your periods. Most of the women who menstruate may experience this pain for 1-2 days each month. Normally, the pain is mild, but for some women, the pain can be severe. Jagril Spas Tablet is used to get relief from cramps and aching pain in your belly during menstruation or periods.

Colicky pains

Colicky pain is sharp and localized pain that starts and stops abruptly. It mainly occurs due to muscle contractions of hollow organs such as intestines, rectum, gallbladder and ureter as a result of obstruction by forcing content out. Jagril Spas Tablet is used to stop sudden muscle contractions or spasms and relieves colicky pain.

Allergy

Kidney damage

Jagril Spas Tablet is not recommended for use in patients suffering from kidney diseases associated with the excessive use of painkillers. Patients with kidney impairment should ask their pharmacist how the Jagril Spas Tablet may affect their kidneys or react with other medicines they take.

Sever liver impairment

Patients with liver diseases need special dose consideration while taking Jagril Spas Tablet. This medicine gets converted to its active form in the liver. Therefore, if you take large amounts of this medicine, more active forms are formed which can damage your liver. The use of this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe liver diseases because it can further increase the risk of liver damage.

Gastrointestinal bleeding

Jagril Spas Tablet may cause stomach and intestinal bleeding and ulcers. Therefore it is not recommended for use in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation disorders since it may worsen the condition.

General warnings

Chronic malnutrition

Malnutrition and fasting can increase the risk of Jagril Spas Tablet toxicity. Dose adjustment should be done based on body weight.

Allergic skin reaction

Jagril Spas Tablet may cause serious skin allergies without any warnings. These events may be fatal in rare cases. Signs and symptoms like rashes, hives, fever, or other allergic symptoms should be reported to the doctor immediately. The treatment should be discontinued if these symptoms appear.

Driving or operating machinery

Jagril Spas Tablet may cause sleepiness, blurred vision or dizziness in some patients. Hence it is advised not to drive vehicles and operate heavy machinery after taking this medicine.

Use in Children

Jagril Spas Tablet is not recommended in children unless directed by a doctor.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Jagril Spas Tablet as soon as possible. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor in case of an overdose with Jagril Spas Tablet.

Liver Disease

Patients with liver diseases need special dose consideration while taking Jagril Spas Tablet. The conversion of Jagril Spas Tablet to its active form happens in the liver. Overdose can produce more active forms and leads to liver damage.

Heart Disease

Long-term use of Jagril Spas Tablet may increase the risk of a heart attack in patients with pre-existing heart conditions or heart failure. It is not used for treating pain after coronary bypass surgery.

Prostatic Hypertrophy

Inform the doctor if you have any urinary tract disorders before receiving Jagril Spas Tablet. Prolonged therapy with Jagril Spas Tablet is reported to cause urinary tract obstruction. This obstruction may also lead to enlargement of the prostate.

Jagril Spas Tablet can interfere with a urine test and may give a false-positive result. It is advised to inform the doctor and lab technician about all your current medicines before undergoing any lab test.

How it works
