Description

Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup is an antiseptic medication that is used in the treatment of gingivitis (a condition in which the gums become red and swollen), mouth ulcers, oral thrush (fungal infection in your mouth) and denture sores (painful sores developed due to denture). It is also used for maintaining oral hygiene. Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup is usually considered safe for use and has minor side effects like taste change and burning sensation on your tongue when used for the first time. However, if you experience any symptoms like skin irritation, peeling of skin inside your mouth, inform your doctor. Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup should only be used to rinse your mouth, do not swallow it. The dose and duration of its use will be determined by your doctor. Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup should not be used if you have known history of allergy to it. It is not recommended in children and adolescents less than 18 years of age.

What is it prescribed for?

Gingivitis

Gingivitis is a condition in which your gums become red and swollen due to poor oral hygiene. Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup is used in the treatment of gingivitis and prevents your gums from bleeding.

Mouth ulcers

Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup is used to treat the painful swelling and ulceration (sores) in your mouth.

Oral Thrush

Oral thrush is a fungal infection in your mouth that is caused due immune deficiency and the use of steroid sprays for asthma. Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup is used along with other medicines in the treatment of oral thrush.

Denture sores

Denture sores/ulcers develop due to continuous wearing of dentures and improper cleaning. Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup treats and prevents denture sores.

Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup is meant for external use only. If the medicine is swallowed, seek immediate medical help. Follow all dosing instructions mentioned on the label or the package insert. For maximum effectiveness, wait for 30 minutes before rinsing your mouth with water, brushing your teeth, eating, or drinking. Some tooth fillings may become permanently discoloured because of Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup. Brush and floss daily to reduce discolouration. Glycoseptol C 0.2 % Syrup should not be mixed or diluted with any other product.
