Description

Flur Ophthalmic Solution is a combination of Flurbiprofen and Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. It is used to prevent the constriction and narrowing of the pupil during eye surgery. It is also used to treat post-operative pain and swelling of the eyes after eye surgery. Lubricating, moistening and making artificial tears in conditions like dry eyes are the other uses of Flur Ophthalmic Solution. Flur Ophthalmic Solution should be used only for eyes. You are advised to use Flur Ophthalmic Solution for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Wash your hands after and before using this medicine. Avoid touching the nozzle with bare skin and using it for more than 30 days once the seal is broken. Use the dropper to instil the drops into the affected eyes. Your doctor will direct you how many drops to instil based on your medical condition. Flur Ophthalmic Solution use shows common side effects like eye pain, blurred vision, and eye irritation. Usually, these side effects are temporary and get resolved over time. Seek medical attention if the symptoms do not resolve within 3 weeks. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it. Drive or operate machines only when your vision is clear as this medicine may cause blurred vision in some people. Flur Ophthalmic Solution is not recommended for use in children unless advised by your doctor. Inform your doctor if you have/had any medical conditions or if you are on any medication before initiating Flur Ophthalmic Solution treatment. Flur Ophthalmic Solution is used for the inhibition of the intraoperative miosis (constriction of the pupil during the surgical procedure) and also to treat the symptoms such as eye pain, redness, swelling, etc. associated with cataract surgery.

Flur Ophthalmic Solution is used in the treatment of dry eyes. These may be caused by infrequent blinking, environmental conditions, medical conditions such as blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids), rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid problems, etc.

Contact lens

Your doctor may ask you to stop using contact lenses for up to a few days prior to the surgery and for few months post-surgery depending on the type of eye surgery performed. If you are advised to use contact lenses post-surgery, they should be removed before using the Flur Ophthalmic Solution. You should wait for at least 10 to 15 minutes after using the eye drops before re-inserting the lenses.

Contamination

Do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface since this may lead to contamination by bacteria. You are advised to take all hygienic precautions to ensure that the Flur Ophthalmic Solution is not contaminated.

Missed Dose
